What is Community “X”?

Community “X” is a youth group in Venice committed to continual growth as a community and as individuals.  The “X” stands for multiplication and mystery, as we discover our places on earth in this exciting journey we call life!

The message is:  No matter what positives or negatives life may bring, we can seek to learn and grow from each experience and thought we encounter.  In this way we can begin to forge a richer lifestyle personally and communally.

Join Community “X” and strive with others to be and make our world greater, richer, better.

Our youth are an integral part of our church and worship, participating fully in leadership and worship gatherings.

We also have a youth night every third Saturday of each month from 6 - 8 p.m.

After School

The After School Club takes place Monday through Thursday 2 - 7 p.m.  Ages 11-17.

We have a 30/30, 20/20, 10/10 plan in place for our time spent together.

Skate Team

The Church Yard Dogs (CYD) Skateboard Team is open to youth ages 10-16. There are now lessons for the youth.  Check the newsletter for our monthly Skater BBQ.  The youth also have a MySpace site with more info.

Mon., Tues., & Thurs: 2:30-5:30 p.m. Training.  Wed: 2:30 & 4:40 p.m. Team Values by Aaron “X” Anderson.  Wed & Fri: 2:30-5:30 p.m. Free Skate with Pastor Tom.

We have winners on campus from the California Games Skate Competition.  VUMC is on the map!

The California Amateur Skateboarding League Games Results for VUMC/SkatePark USA Youth are -

Kevin White - 1st place in SOCAL Street Contest & 3rd in NOCAL Street.  Hayden McKenna - 2nd in Bowl.  Evan Wasser - 2nd in SOCAL Street & 3rd in Bowl.
