Worship |
Venice United Methodist church celebrates worship on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. Services are between 60 and 75 minutes long. Following the service, everyone is invited to share a bit of refreshment during our “hospitality” time in the parlor, before they carry on with their day.
The purpose of our worship at Venice United Methodist church, above all else, is to praise God. We believe, however, that worship is also experimental. Worship helps us praise God with all our hearts, souls, and minds. |

Our worship contains the familiar and some unfamiliar: elements of music, prayer, Scripture reading, prophetic witness, youth interpretation of Scripture, and special offerings of the gifts and talents of people from our community at large.
On the first Sunday of each month we celebrate communion. To this communion table, everyone is invited into the full life of the church; also without exception. Our hope is that through the unexpected, God’s Holy Spirit will move us, enrich us, and transform us so that we may become truly who we are meant to be. |

The Community |
Venice United Methodist church is a small community, as membership goes. We haven’t always been as faithful as we could have been. We are, however, committed to having this church be a place of welcome, encouragement, hospitality, service, and celebration for the Venice and Marina community.
We are a diverse bunch of people, becoming ever more diverse. We are many ethnicities; and we span all age groups, economic groups and educational levels. We vary in the ways in which we interpret our interaction with God and we vary in our politics. We celebrate our differences, and we truly respect the richness provided us by the various ways we experience life, love, and God’s grace—together. |
